Overview
Anthropology studies humans throughout time, from evolution to present day. It sparks our curiosity and seeks to answer the questions we’ve always wondered, like where we come from and what it means to be human.
The anthropology minor at Illinois State takes a deep dive into these questions and the journey to get answers is fascinating. You’ll learn how anthropology has major impacts on issues we face today, such as poverty, health, and social justice.
As an anthropology minor, you’ll study cultures, language, and artifacts from the ancient past. You’ll also get a solid foundation in human behavior. Our program looks at historical events and environmental factors that influence how people behave.

Sociology students continue learning beyond the classroom, with internships, field schools, undergraduate teaching and research assistantships, and other opportunities, including an Anthropology Club.
